Tips for Choosing the Right Low Maintenance Floor for a Marietta Retail Stores

Feb 26, 2020

When it comes to flooring, retail stores in Marietta face a number of challenges.

One of the biggest problems is that these stores see a tremendous amount of foot traffic. Ultimately, dirt and debris is tracked in on the bottom of shoes, so within hours, the floors look dirty. Staying on top of cleaning is another challenge. Obviously, with a significant amount of traffic, there is little time to dedicate to sweeping and mopping.

The goal when selecting a low maintenance floor for your Marietta retail store is to choose something that requires very little attention. You want a floor that is strong, durable, and long-lasting. In addition, the floor that you choose should be easy to clean and maintain. Ultimately, you want to go with something that you sweep and mop on occasion. Although there are several possibilities, polished concrete is without question at the top of the list. When professionally installed and properly done, this type of floor will look amazing while holding up to daily abuse with minimal maintenance. Not only are concrete floors strong and durable, depending on the application, they can be designed  with incredible colors, patterns, and textures.

Take stamped concrete as a prime example. Because this type of flooring system has interesting texture and color that resembles slate, cobblestone, brick, and even wood, it hides dirt well. Even with textures, stamped concrete is an excellent choice for a low-maintenance floor that would add value to your Marietta retail store.

Acid stain is another great option for a low maintenance floor. Unlike painted floors that peel and chip, the color of acid-stained floors is permanent. When the stain is applied to the floors in your Marietta store, it penetrates the concrete and interacts with the lime in the concrete. This results in a floor that is easy to care for and maintain, but also one that can handle heavy foot traffic while having a unique aesthetic.
